Delete your account

You can delete your YUH account and the data attached to it at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to be signed in to ask — if you have lost access to the app, this page is still the way.

From inside the app

Open Profile → Personal details → Delete my account. The app tells you what goes and what stays, asks you to confirm, and deletes the account at once. You are signed out on every phone.

If you cannot open the app

Email support@yuhcarnival.com with the subject Delete my YUH account, and include:

• the email address or mobile number your account uses, and
• the band you registered with, if you registered with one.

We will reply to confirm before anything is deleted, so that a request from somebody who is not you cannot remove your account. Deletion is completed within 30 days of that confirmation.

What is deleted

• Your account: name, email address, mobile number and profile details.
• Your location data — last known position and position history.
• Your crew links, trusted contacts and meeting points.
• Your push notification token, so the app can no longer reach your phone.
• Any road-camera captures you uploaded.

Captures you never shared were never sent to us — those live only on your phone, and removing the app removes them.

What we have to keep, and for how long

Two things survive a deletion request, and both are obligations rather than choices:

• Payment records. Where you have paid a band, the record of that payment is kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require — currently seven years. It is reduced to the transaction itself: amount, date and reference. Your contact details are removed from it.
• Your band's own roster. A band you registered with holds its own record of your registration, as the organisation you contracted with. Deleting your YUH account removes your access and your personal data from our systems; it does not by itself instruct your band. If you want the band's copy removed as well, say so in your email and we will pass the request on, or you can contact them directly.

What happens to your registration

Deleting your account does not refund a costume or cancel a registration. If you have paid for one and want to stop playing, sort that out with your band first — deletion cannot be undone, and afterwards you will have no record of what you paid.

Changed your mind about the app, not the account?

You do not have to delete anything to stop sharing. Location sharing can be switched off inside the app, and location, camera, photo and notification permissions can each be revoked in your phone's settings. See the privacy policy.
